Steve Abbott
Hello, my name is Steve. I am a qualified counsellor offering confidential and compassionate support for a wide range of personal and relationship challenges.
I am a person centred therapist but I may also bring ideas and use techniques from other styles of counselling too. I am a member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I was, for many years, a trainer for a large national company, working with many different types of people and a wide range of skills. One thing that I find that connects my former role to that of a counsellor, is my belief that having a strong relationship with the person I am working with, is essential for getting the most out our time together.
I am also a volunteer at a local cancer charity supporting people living with cancer and/or their family members too.
I have experience either personally or having worked with, a wide range of subjects, some being anxiety, trauma, illness, involuntary childlessness, relationship issues.
I have completed several qualifications that support my work. They include:
• Foundation Degree (FdA) in Counselling
• Counselling Studies (CPCAB)
• Counselling Skills (CPCAB)
• Certificate accredited by COSRT in couple/relational therapy
• Certified trauma informed practitioner
• Certificate in working online
• Coaching qualification from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM)
